When tube stubs are joined with a union nut and a nut connection, an adjustable union is formed. Assembly instructions suggest tightening the union nut on the turned compression ferrule side (left) by 1/4 turn, followed by tightening the other side (right) by 1 3/4 turns. It's recommended to use assembly aid AC 870 for easy and accurate compression ferrule placement.
