OVERVIEW

Dr. H. Gewefel is aims to provide a new vision for women’s healthcare and leads community initiatives to spread awareness over breast cancer among Egyptian women. A consultant in the field of women’s health herself, she earned a diploma from the European Society of Breast Imaging Vienna, Austria. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from school of Medicine, Cairo University.

Dr. H. Gewefel joint MUST since 2011

as a lecturer staff member in Radiology & Medical Imaging Technology, then in 2016 promoted as assistant prof. Dr. Gewefel is the founder, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Women and Fetal Imaging Clinic (WAFI). WAFI aims to provide a new vision for women’s healthcare and leads community initiatives to spread awareness over breast cancer among women in the MENA area. It promotes early detection methodologies and provides high quality screening and early detection for breast diseases, and free screening and mammograms for women in need. A consultant in the field of women’s health herself, she earned a diploma from the European Society of Breast Imaging Vienna, Austria. She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from school of Medicine, Cairo University. Master’s degree of Radiodiagnois – Cairo university, school of Medicine. Medical Doctorate in Radiodiagnosis, El Azhar University, in 2008

  • 2016 – Present - Assistant Professor and Department Chair, Faculty of Applied Medical Sciences, Radiologic Imaging Technology (RIT) Department, Misr University for Science and Technology (MUST), Cairo, Egypt. Teaches courses on radiology in the Radiologic Imaging Technology (RIT) Department while serving as Department Chair.
  • 2007 – Present - Chairman & Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Founding Partner, Women and Fetal Imaging (WAFI) Clinic, Cairo, Egypt. As CEO of this clinic I co- founded, I direct clinic operations. In my role as co- founder and board member, I conduct annual strategic planning and develop and execute marketing campaigns.
  • 2002 – 2010 - Founding Partner, Breast Imaging Unit, Mostafa Mahmoud Mosque Charity Organization, Cairo, Egypt. In response to the lack of access experienced by low-income Egyptian women to breast disease screening, I served as a founding partner to establish a Breast Imaging Unit at this mosque charity organization. This charity clinic provides breast disease diagnostic and screening services to low-income Egyptian women.
